We are so excited for our first ever Restaurant Night at Sonic. We hope you will join us! 40% of all onsite sales will be donated to Sandpiper. The fundraiser will run from 5-8pm. We have a special event at 5:30pm that you don't want to miss.  

Top 3 Reasons to Join us at Sonic:

1. Join us for the biggest competition of the year. Principal Alcazar has challenged Mrs. Denise to a Sonic Tots easting contest! The event takes place at 5:30pm. Come cheer them on and see who will be crowned the Tot Champion!
2. Great opportunity to coordinate with friends and families for an easy (and fun) dinner during a busy week!
3. 10 lucky kids will be selected at random to win a Free Sonic Blast!

Parents, we need your help to make the Spring Carnival happen. We still have 4 of 5 sub committee positions open. Please volunteer this week to help make this event possible. Nidia Elm will be following up to share more details and answer any questions. 

If you are unable to volunteer your time, please consider helping to solicit donations from the community for our Silent Auction. Last year our silent auction raised $6,500 thanks to the generous donations from our community and work our families did to put together some great baskets.

Last year auction items included tickets to a Phoenix Suns game, a vacation to Rocky Point, Family Game Basket and more.  Be inspired by the things you love and things your family enjoys. The PTO will provide tax information for donations.

We had so much fun kicking off this year’s Kids Heart Challenge! We traveled the globe with this year’s heart heroes, who inspired our students to “Be The Torch” in the fight against heart disease by taking care of their own heart, helping others with special hearts, and completing Finn’s Mission with their family to learn lifesaving skills. 

We are so excited for the silly string squad this year! When we reach our school goal of $8,500, Mrs. Alcazar and Coach Rosenberg will be SILLY STRINGED! Help your student get a head start by completing Finn’s Mission TODAY. 

We have 15 kids who have completed the mission with a goal of 50 students!

2. TAKE THE CHALLENGE to Move More or Be Kind and earn the FREE Be the Torch Wristband when we kick off!

We hope you can join us for Parent's Night Out! Please RSVP so we have an accurate headcount of how many to expect. This is a fundraising event for our school. Rooster Tavern is hosting us on their patio, February 15th from 5-7pm. They will donate 20% of onsite sales back to Sandpiper (food, beverage and bar). This event does require an RSVP, so please register today!

Thank you for your patience as we work with the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show to get the details of the art show. If your child's art was selected, information is coming home this week. Please check backpacks. 

Each participant will receive tickets to the show and a t-shirt. The show runs 2/16 - 2/26. They will award ribbons to selected entries on 2/26 at 11:30am. You do not need to be present to win. If you do attend on 2/26, please do not take your art home. Mrs. Lundblade will pick them all up and ensure they are returned to the students. You can learn more about the event here.

Have you seen the kindness rocks in the garden the students painted in December? Next time you are on campus, stop by and take a look at the wonderful art and messages our students created. 

The weather is great and we need help in the garden. This is a perfect opportunity to spend a little time with your student during their lunch recess. Volunteers are needed from 10:50am - 1:30pm. Please sign up.

Garden Donations Needed: kids garden gloves, garden trowels, clippers, organic plant food, and carrot seeds.

Have you seen the Sandpiper lost and found collection lately? We sure wish those valuables had names on them. Mabel's Labels is here to help and they are giving 20% back to Sandpiper.
